DINING

Restaurant Matilda is open for dinner to the public, Thursday - Monday, from 5:30pm - 10pm. The menu at Matilda embraces the best of New York State's farms and artisans. The dedicated roster of farmers inspires the dishes of each season, incorporating fresh and exciting produce on a daily basis. Reservations encouraged.

For our hotel guests:

Our globally inspired breakfast is served daily to inn guests only from 8am - 10am. Our mornings at The Henson start with locally-sourced eggs, cured meats and cheeses, house made pastries and jams, and assorted chef selected specialties.

CHECK IN: 3pm

CHECK OUT: 11am

Early check in or late checkout available upon request and availability, discretionary fees may apply.

GROUP AND ROOM BLOCKS

Group gatherings may impact the intimate nature of our inn, so we kindly ask for prior coordination to ensure a comfortable experience for all of our guests at The Henson.

For group reservations or room block requests, please contact us directly (reservations@thehenson.com) for prior approval. Multiple-room reservations made without approval may be subject to cancellation. 

CHILDREN

The Henson is designed to offer a peaceful, adult-oriented environment and does not provide activities for children. We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing children between the ages of 2 and 12 in order to maintain the experience we wish to provide our guests.

Portable cribs and baby monitors are available for children younger than 2 and cots are available for children older than 12.

The maximum occupancy of each room is two adults and one child. Please note when booking if you will be bringing a child and their age so we can properly prepare for your arrival.

DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION

A 100% deposit is required to reserve your room. For cancellations made more than 14 days prior to arrival date, a full refund for the stay will be issued. Cancellations made within 14 days will result in a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the stay. Cancellations made within 7 days will result in a charge for the full stay. No-shows and early checkouts will not be refunded.

PETS

The Henson welcomes well-behaved dogs! A $50 nightly, non-refundable fee (per dog-max of 2) will be added to your bill. Please let us know at the time of booking if you’ll be bringing your dog to confirm accommodations. Your furry friend will receive one of our LAY LO dog beds and food/water bowls to use during their stay. Sorry, no cats. Dogs must be leashed in all common areas, including the gardens. Please note we are not able to accommodate dogs in the dining room of the restaurant per health department regulations. We do offer outdoor dining where dogs are allowed on our back deck, weather permitting. If your pet is not used to being alone or may become agitated in new spaces and around unfamiliar people and other dogs, please consider this in your travel plans. Please remember to clean up after your pet. Additional fees may apply for deep cleaning, damages, and disruption to other guests that occur at the sole discretion of management.

SMOKING

The Henson is a non-smoking hotel and therefore smoking is not allowed in any public area, or guest rooms. If you or your guests choose to smoke, a $500 fee will be charged to your bill.

QUIET HOURS

With respect for all of our guests, we observe quiet hours from 11pm-7am. Please be considerate of others and the experience we wish to provide at The Henson.

TRANSPORTATION

We recommend driving to The Henson to have the freedom to explore the great region we’re in.

By Train
If driving is not option, we recommend taking Amtrak to the Hudson station and then a local taxi or Uber to the inn (~35 min drive).

By Bus
There is a Trailways bus that brings you directly to Hensonville (1-minute walk from the inn)

By Plane
The nearest major airport is in Albany. From there you may take a taxi or rent a car (~1 hour drive)
